I WAS fine and recovering somewhat contentedly.
But the last few days I've started going a bit crazy. Feeling sorry for myself too I guess, but mostly just stir crazy. The doctor's visit this last week resulted in the news that I'll be home and not walking at all for three more weeks.
I'd like to be able to take a normal shower. And how I wish I had a bigger backyard, that had sun exposure and not only shade. I'd love to sit out there in my dream backyard, in a chair in the sun in my jammies and robe and read something interesting.
Not that it matters anyway this week since it's raining so much.
HMM dream purchases.
Dream purchases:
New car with nice sound system
house with nice backyard
(both reasonably priced)

I miss my journal
I've been stuck for a week downstairs and my journal is stranded upstairs in my room so I've got nowhere to write down my angst and sometime frustration with being stuck in my house and having a mentally deficient father. He came over to help me tonight and try to care for me for an evening, which doesn't require much but there are certain things I can't do for myself without risking injury and it was too much for him. I'm highly disappointed and sad. It was more work to have him over than for me to be alone for the evening.
Lord Jesus I miss my foot. I miss walking and I miss work and the people there. I miss it so much. I can't dance, I can't excercise, I can't jump around, I can't carry anything (my hands are full with the crutches), I'm tired of this already! Yesterday I went a little crazy and had to have some wine and I drank it fast but it helped me calm down fast and laugh a bit.
Help me not go mental and help me learn and grow somehow from this.

I'm broken
Ok, so I guess a lot of us, all of us, have probably been spiritually broken at some point at least once. I've also experienced an emotional brokenness, especially living overseas.
And now, my body is broken.
I broke my left distal fibula yesterday at work, I guess it's a bone in my ankle although it feels like my leg. I broke it yesterday at work about 3pm and one of my bosses took my to the emergency room and I had a few x-rays taken and a temporary brace/cast put on. I went to an orthopedist today that was recomended by the hospital and had to have two more x-rays taken and had another brace/cast put on that is also temporary although more stable, kind of more "permanent"- ok that doesn't make sense.
I will go back on Feb. 13th for another x-ray to monitor the healing and if Dr. Romero doesn't like what he sees he may choose to do surgery and I'm really hoping for no surgery. The bone needs to heal straight and alligned but if the bone moves so that it's not healing right then surgery will ensure that it gets alligned.
life gets complicated, I didn't realize my life could get MORE complicated. But I'm dealing alright. My mom has been great and totally here and helping me, tomorrow she'll go back to work and I'll be alone most of the day but I think my dad might come over at some point.
It sure is physically tiring though, and going to the bathroom is a whole event.

I love you
In the morning at work on Thursday, hours before I got broken, I was with my preschool class (I took over the 3year old class about a month ago when the teacher had to be fired) and it was morning snack time and 2 or 3 of the kids told me they loved me, and one said she loved more than the whole world. One or two of the kids had told me before they loved me but this was the first time some of them said and it just felt so nice and warm and fuzzy. Later when they were having lunch I was putting some ketchup in a plastic cup so one girl could dip her chicken nuggets in it and this girl looked at me sweetly and said Miss Priya I wish you were my mommy. I was so surprised and had never heard that before (although I remember thinking it of people when I was a kid), and I said "oh honey why do you think that?" And she said "because you make food so pretty." I think she said that because her mom had just put two packets of ketchup in her lunch box but I was putting the ketchup in a bowl making it more convenient and "pretty" for her. Soo cute and so sweet.
Warm fuzzies. I love my job, even without the fuzzies, but the fuzzies are just like the extra bonus cherry that unexpectedly pops up sometimes. I will really miss the kids and my lovely coworkers (Pat, Jenny, Alice, Tim and Nate) in the next few weeks.
God be with me as I'm isolated in the next days and weeks.
